Lunova Group is currently seeking an Operations Manager for a leading indsutrial manfuacturing company. This individual will be responsible for managing the day to day activities of the Detroit= office, as well as establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key contacts including construction users/buyers at customer facilities as well as internal operations, engineering and purchasing personnel.
The selected candidate must have a strong knowledge of refractory construction, including equipment, market and materials. The selected candidate will receive industry leading compensation and benefits.
Operations Manager Responsibilities:
Total P&L responsibility for construction office location.
Manage inventories including refractory materials required to perform customer repairs, safety supplies, equipment spare parts and office supplies.
Manage maintenance of all service equipment.
PM' s all equipment based on recommended maintenance schedules and ensures all equipment is in good working order.
Responsible for enforcing all safety standards and ensuring that employees are working safely both in warehouse and at customer sites.
Direct/coordinate activities of subcontracted safety services when necessary.
Schedule/supervise daily activities of union employees performing work at customer facilities.
Maintain good working relationships with local union officials/business agents by ensuring that the company is following all international and local work rules in compliance with prevailing contract.
Attend contractor meetings, pre-outage meetings, pre-bid meetings/etc. as requested by sales.
Prepare proposals/quotations and cost estimates for various types of work.
Issue purchase orders and review/approve supplier invoices.
Operations Manager Requirements:
Construction project management experience and estimating capabilities.
Good knowledge of Refractory construction/installation a plus.
Technical knowledge of monolithics, operational parameters and how they may affect refractory performance and administration of maintenance programs (products, applications, and installations).
Basic understanding of refractory installation equipment operation and maintenance.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) as well as other general office skills.
