Lunova Group is recruiting for a world leader in the engineering, manufacturing and delivery of refractory products. Our client is seeking an R&D Scientist to join the team in the research center located in Pittsburgh, PA. This position is reporting out of the most well-equipped lab in the USA. This position carries great responsibility because you will be part of a team developing the next generation of products. It will be expected that you will use advanced techniques and the modification and extension of theories, precepts and practices of your field and related sciences.
Some responsibilities of the Research Scientist will include:
Execute complex assignments requiring the development of new or refined materials, processes and/or products.
Design and execute laboratory assignments successfully.
Assist Market & Technology team in selection of trial sites; complete follow up and analysis of the trials.
Recommend changes to products and procedures.
Follow the products into the plants during manufacturing and into the field to understand any need for improvement.
Requirements of the Research Scientist are:
3-5 years of knowledge and research experience in ceramics or refractories.
BS degree in Ceramic or Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgy or related field is required.
Advanced degree is preferred.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally when needed.
